Laboratory Equipment for Polymer Mechanical Properties
The Polymer Mechanical Properties Laboratory is equipped with an INSTRON 4467 universal testing machine with grips for uniaxial compression and tension, bending, shear tests, and more; a thermostatic chamber; load cells (10N, 0.5kN, and 30kN); a flexural creep machine; an instrumented impact testing machine (Ceast Fractovis, falling weight, Izod, Charpy, and disc tests); an instrumented durometer; Hysitron Triboindenter; video extensometry; strain gauges for large and small deformations; digital image correlation (2D) from Correlated Solutions; LVDT displacement sensors; and a high-speed Phantom VEO E310 camera. The laboratory also supports pipe testing according to ISO 13477, 13479, and 13480 standards, with a thermostatic bath for sustained pressure tests and an S4 impact testing machine.
Additionally, we have access to the Microscopy Laboratory, which is equipped with TEM and SEM microscopes, and the Characterization Laboratory, which features DSC, FTIR, TGA, and other analysis instruments. We also have institutional facilities for material forming, including an Inyector Horizontal polymer mixer, and commercial simulation software such as ABAQUS, MODEX 3D, and Digimat.
